Yew Tee Square
Singapore
2008
The proposal for the upgrading of this shopping centre in a public housing precinct, activates street frontages with new facades, pedestrian circulation, retail space, food and beverage outlets, and an exciting new two storey ‘iconic structure’.

The ‘iconic structure’ is characterised by an elegant sun shading system consisting of straight proprietary aerofoil sunshade louvres configured to form a hyperbolic paraboloid facade. An outdoor timber deck with the addition of landscape elements provides a welcoming central area for ‘alfresco’ dining.

The spacious new pedestrian plaza and ‘iconic structure’ is situated directly adjacent to Yew Tee MRT station, which enables good public transport connectivity to the rest of Singapore, thereby generating much throughput patronage through the plaza.
