2006
A conceptual self-sustaining town for an arts/commercial/recreational and residential community, the masterplan includes 15ha residential/hospitality, 1.6ha cultural, 0.5ha recreational, 1ha commercial, 0.2ha educational, 3500 vehicle spaces and the rest for agriculture. The design proposes environmentally sustainable clean energy alternatives, water/waste management, materials, and transport systems.

Sunflower plantations cascade downhill to Africa Centre as undulating ribbons of landscape. The Africa Centre is the cultural heart of the community, expressed through environmentally responsive architecture integrated with landscape.

The residential concept based on interlocking modular components offers flexibility in configuration and unit size, responds to topography and climate, while enabling standardisation and economies of scale.
